William Boyce & Boy Scouts of America: A Century of Service
This year the Boy Scouts of America celebrates its centennial. To mark this milestone the Bartlett History Museum invites everyone to the presentation of 'William Boyce & Boy Scouts of America: A Century of Service,' on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Actor Terry Lynch will portray Boyce who was a successful newspaperman and the founder of the Boy Scouts of America. The program will take place at the museum which is located in Bartlett Village Hall, 228 S. Main Street, Bartlett and begins at 7:00 p.m. A birthday cake reception will be held from 6:30 p.m. to the start of the program. Seats are limited and registration is required for this free event. Please call 630-837-0800 to reserve or for additional information. Memorabilia from Bartlett's first troop, Troop 23, chartered in 1931, will also be on exhibit that evening. The museum is especially seeking those who were Scouts or Scouters in Bartlett Troop/Pack 23 to join the evening festivities for a reunion and sharing of scout memories.
